2 workers killed in downtown hoist collapse

TWO workers were killed on the scene this morning at a construction site in downtown Changning District when a hoist collapsed, local news website xinmin.cn reported.
District authority reportedly said that the two victims were crushed to death on the construction site at 541 Tianshan Road W when the crane collapsed early this morning.
The district safe production watchdog had arrived on the scene for a probe. Initial investigation showed the hoist driver could have made a mistake when operating the truck, causing it to lose balance and overturn.
