AN industrial park designed for 3D printing equipment manufacturers is being built in Xianghu New Town, Xiaoshan District. Once only seen in sci-fi movies, 3D printing is finding its way into the life of ordinary Chinese. Sixty-five companies have signed investment agreements with the park. Some of them specialize in medical and dental applications of 3D printing technology.
Dubbed the “third industrial revolution,” 3D printing refers to the process of making a three-dimensional solid object by adding layer upon layer of plastic, metal or other materials to the object according to a scanned digital model.
