Opulent options await guests at Le Meridien

SURROUNDED by open spaces and lush vegetation, Le Meridien Xiamen Hotel is one of the most popular choices for visitors to the coastal city, especially those looking for a balanced urban and natural setting.

Nestled on the slopes of Xianyue Hill, Le Meridien Xiamen Hotel is the only international hotel in the city’s mountain park. Apart from its beautiful surrounding scenery, the hotel also enjoys easy access to the city’s CBD and various leisure attractions.

“Le Meridien’s branded programs provide guests with a varied and interesting choice of culinary, culture and leisure activities,” says David Katemopoulos, general manager of Le Meridien Xiamen Hotel.

Katemopoulos made special mention of the hotel’s partnership with the Unlock Art Program, which offers guests the opportunity to visit the Piano Museum on Gulangyu Island, a popular tourist destination.

The hotel features 342 refined guest rooms, including 12 villa suites, all with private balconies overlooking either the courtyard with waterfall or Xianyue Hill.

Two restaurants and a bar inside the hotel enable guests to explore innovative pairings of flavors and aromas. Le Meridien’s signature breakfast menu includes a selected number of dishes created by Jean-Georges Vongerichten at Latest Recipe, the hotel’s all-day dining restaurant, as well as an enticing selection of Western, Continental and Asian food.

Le Mei Chinese Restaurant is a favorite among both locals and visitors thanks to its authentic Cantonese and Chaozhou cuisine transformed by modern interpretations.

The Latitude 24 Bar and Lounge features specialty coffees prepared by trained baristas, High Teas in the afternoon and live modern jazz performances in the evening. Sweets and homemade snacks, champagne High Tea, luxurious cocktails and the famous Le Meridien Illy coffee are all popular orders.

The Chef’s Table, a pop-up fine-dining program, offers gourmet dining in unique settings (venues change according to weather, occasion and guest preference) with food prepared by the executive chef.

In addition to the traditional food and beverage services, the Garden Courtyard provides a perfect space for outdoor wedding ceremonies or cocktails, with professional service by a 24/7 catering and banquet service team.

An “East meets West”-themed table setup with matching menu is an ideal alternative to traditional wedding banquets, according to Katemopoulos. The Summit and Grand Ballrooms can cater to weddings with 10-50 large round tables.

“Xiamen is blessed with mild weather year round; there are really no high or low seasons for visitors,” says Katemopoulos.

“Xiamen as a tourist destination will continue to grow over the foreseeable future complemented by new infrastructure projects, such as the new airport and subway systems currently under construction,” says the general manager. “The expansion of both air and high-speed rail networks ... will help further drive Xiamen to become one of the top tourist and commercial cities in China.”

This year, the hotel launched a series of new programs for guests, including special room amenities for female travelers, areas for playing and learning for children, cooking classes for youngsters and daily evening wine tasting in the lobby lounge.

“Le Meridien Xiamen, with its unique location, facilities and services will continue to position itself as the preferred hotel for both business and leisure travelers to Xiamen,” say Katemopoulos.
