Hyatt Regency Chongming takes trip down memory lane

CAMPUS life is fondly recalled by many as it’s often the first time people experience being on their own, forge life-long bonds with classmates and seemingly bounce from one wild party to another.

Hyatt Regency Chongming this month has launched The Campus, a new meeting center enabling you to say goodbye to tedious, old-fashioned meetings and relive all the pleasures of college campus life.

Styled to evoke the nostalgia of university, The Campus is a “learning and social center” designed to foster creative thinking and the exchange of ideas.

Hyatt Regency Chongming is the first Hyatt hotel in China to introduce The Campus concept and the second in Asia after Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok.

The goal is to create a unique meeting atmosphere to inspire great ideas and creativity, thus improving the overall quality of every meeting.

Spanning 1,440 square meters on the ground floor, The Campus creates an intimate and warm atmosphere, bringing participants back to their school days with its brick walls, wooden desks, blackboards, chalk and chairs that are features on most campuses. The Campus comprises a 210-seat Lecture Hall and five classrooms ranging from 47 square meters to 150 square meters that can be utilized to host various conferences, parties or intimate activities. There are three conference rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows in The Campus. All three have direct access to the 300-square-meter lawn, perfect for outdoor team building activities. All meeting spaces are equipped with Wi-Fi access, a high-tech audio system, LED screen and other meeting facilities.

In the center of The Campus is the Activity Hall, a 253-square-meter hub of leisure activities for conference groups. The Activity Hall has two open kitchens and a bar. Guests can chat with the chefs in the specially designed open kitchens while enjoying either Chinese or Western food. The Activity Hall is also equipped with billiard and foosball tables, as well as dart boards. Meeting participants are encouraged to kick off their shoes, take a break and have a bit of fun.

A vintage record player reflects the nostalgic feel of The Campus, making it a superb place for cocktails or dance parties.

The Campus also has six song and game rooms for karaoke, chess or cards. For conferences or events with less than 100 participants, The Campus is likely to become a surprisingly fresh meeting or conference experience for all participants.
