New exhibition doesn’t monkey around

TO mark the upcoming Year of the Monkey, Shanghai Science and Technology Museum is hosting the exhibition “Legend of Apes and Monkeys.” It’s the 19th time that the museum holds an exhibition dedicated to the zodiac signs.
This exhibition, divided into 10 themes, is displayed in the maze of showrooms with the combination of science and art. Each unit consists of a forestage where artworks concerning apes and monkeys are showcaseed and a backstage that explains the scientific connotations in these works.
The works include oil paintings, animation scripts, thangka paintings, sculptures, film posters and many more.
More than 20 types of specimens of apes and monkeys are also on display, from the rhesus monkey and baboon to guenon and golden monkey.
As usual, the museum provides the visitors with learning resources.
Some of the programs require a reservation.
