Award-winning NZ barbershop quartet

THE Musical Island Boys from Wellington will present an a cappella concert at Daning Theater featuring a wide selection of songs. The group, founded a decade ago, is one of the best male barbershop quartets in New Zealand.

They were the youngest quartet at the 2004 International Barbershop Convention in Louisville, Kentucky, and placed third, which also made history as the first non-American medal winner of the convention.

The Musical Island Boys won the 4th Pan Pacific Barbershop Convention in Christchurch, New Zealand, in 2004 with the highest score in history.

The group tours around New Zealand and abroad and has sung in venues such as the Opera House, Auckland Town Hall, and the Regent on Broadway. They have also released two recordings.

Their concert in Shanghai will feature songs like “Ain’t Too Proud To Bet,” “Easy,” “I Want It That Way” and “Yesterday Once More,” as well as other classic tunes.
