Classic duo hold holiday performances

TO celebrate the New Year, the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival Orchestera will present two concerts in Shanghai.

The concerts will be conducted by Christoph Eschenbach.

In addition to his rich conducting experience, the 75-year-old Eschenbach is an accomplished pianist and the winner of numerous competition prizes.

The concerts will also feature performances from celebrated American pianist Tzimon Barto.

Recognized as one of the foremost American pianists of his generation, Barto is adept at combining poetry with music. He has performed with numerous major international orchestras.

Over many years of collaboration, Barto and Eschenbach have performed and recorded works by Brahms, Tchaichovsky and other noted composures.

Barto is also devoted to the promotion of contemporary music, having founded the Barto Prize for piano solos in 2006.
