The accent on international

A NEW industrial center in the district will enhance cross-border trade and culture.

Guohe Industrial Park will feature international products, a bonded warehouse, an incubator for start-up companies and a business-to-business cross-border trading platform.

In the next 18 months, six pavilions will be added, selling products from countries such as South Korea, Japan, the US, Australia and Germany. The international products display center will have both brick-and-mortar stores and an online public trading platform.

On the display floor, imported wines are neatly aligned on a shelf, while chic motorcycles and bikes are arrayed nearby.

The second floor features Chinese paintings and other artistic works. Artists will be on hand for talks on weekends, and several fashion shows and art auctions are on the calendar.

The park is currently negotiating with One Gallery, a European art institution, to exhibit the works of Chinese painter Zhang Daqian (1899-1983) overseas.

The cross-border bonded warehouse will house commodities in a climatically controlled facility equipped with “smart” systems. It includes humidors for cigars, areas for wine and medicine storage and food freezers.

The park, sponsored by China’s Traditional Chinese Medicine Corp and Shandong Province Press Group, will also serve as a showroom for 270,000 pharmacies across the country.
