From cars to clowns, there’s something for everyone

As part of the 2015 Shanghai Tourism Festival and Shopping Festival which runs to October 6, Jiading has launched a number of activities that include motor racing, exhibitions and interactive programs.
Shanghai International Circuit in Jiading’s Anting Town will have a full schedule with an Autumn-Winter Season racing Series that includes the World Endurance Championship, World Touring Car Championship, China Touring Car Championship, China Super Racing Festival and the final of the Skoda Heroes China Cycling Series.
This year marks the 5th anniversary of the China Auto Salon Modified Cars Carnival in Jiading and the event will cover four days instead of the previous two.
The AEMI World Clown Festival will be held for the first time, and it is expected that more than 8,000 people will take part. As a highlight of this year’s exhibitions, the festival is the world’s biggest clown art festival with more than 500 renowned clown artists on board.
Nanxiang Xiaolongbao Cultural Festival and Shanghai Confucius Cultural Festival, to be held in Nanxiang Old Town and Jiading Zhouqiao Scenic Area, will feature a number of activities including traditional dances, folk songs and other intangible cultural heritage performances. Visitors can learn how to make dumplings during the festival.
Shanghai Puppet Troupe will stage a special performance for visitors while a series of other handicraft shows feature blow painting, paper cutting and clay modeling. Guyi Garden will hold the 2015 Happy Folk Customs Festival with exhibitions of chopsticks, 3D curtains and comic strips.
In the Cao’an Road Business Circle, there will be various kinds of online and offline roadshows and promotion campaigns for shoppers while diners can enter a lucky draw to enjoy a free meal at one of the many restaurants along Jiangqiao Old Street.
