Massive investment plans

HANGZHOU government will invest over 1 trillion yuan on 500 key projects by 2020.

As part of the city’s 13th Five Year Plan (2016-20), those projects include infrastructure construction, healthcare system enhancement, as well as culture and education development.

Over a third of the investment has been kept aside for construction of high-speed railway, aviation, water transport and highway, with a goal of making Hangzhou more international.

The railways plan to add Hangzhou-Huangshan railway, Shanghai-Zhapu-Hangzhou Railway, and Hangzhou-Shaoxing-Taizhou Railway. Anew train station, Hangzhou West Railway Station will also be established before Asian Games held in 2022.

Inside the city, the government plans to finish five Metro lines by 2019. When Asian Games kicks out, seven subway lines will be in operation. Tram will be introduced into Hangzhou’s Future Sci-tech Town, and Dajiangdong Industrial Agglomerations Area.

Meanwhile, 50,000 public parking lots will be added in the city.

More high schools, hospitals and public sport fields will be built in suburban areas.
