Expressway approved
THE Ministry of Transport has approved Hangzhou’s plan to build the Yuhang section of the Raocheng Expressway west of the city.
The 31.7-kilometer, six-lane section will connect two transport hubs and three interchanges. Construction will start in August, officials said.
Designed to encompass Yuhang, Lin’an, Fuyang and Xiaoshan districts and Zhuji in neighboring Shaoxing City, the Yuhang section will run 48.4km in Fuyang, 10.5km in Zhuji, 7.2km in Xiaoshan and 0.6km in Lin’an. It will complete the 97.79km expressway loop in 2020.
With a speed limit of 100km per hour, the Raocheng Expressway is a major traffic artery for Hangzhou and neighboring Huzhou, Jiaxing and Shaoxing cities.
