Ymatou eyes Japan expansion
CROSS-BORDER e-commerce website Ymatou plans to invest 1 billion yen (US$9.2 million) to expand its warehouse and logistics capacity in Japan.
Japanese cosmetics, food and home-appliance devices are popular among Chinese consumers, who are expected to spend more than 876 billion yen on such items in 2020, analysts said.
Ymatou said yesterday that it plans to triple its warehouse capacity in Tokyo, and improve its logistics networks so as to reduce delivery times.
Japan is second only to the United States as a source of foreign goods bought by Chinese consumers via e-commerce websites.
Ymatou currently has 12 warehouses around the world.
