Bond business brisk
ABOUT 3.3 trillion yuan (US$503 billion) worth of bonds were issued in China’s interbank bond market last month.
The total included 288.2 billion yuan worth of treasury bonds and 1.1 trillion yuan of local government bonds, the central bank said yesterday.
Turnover in the country’s money market in April rose 46.3 percent year on year but fell 18 percent from March to 50.9 trillion yuan, the People’s Bank of China said in a statement on its website.
The one-month interbank weighted average interest rate offered in April rose 2 basis points from March to 2.11 percent, it said.
