Artemed hospital coming

GERMANY-BASED medical and health care provider Artemed Group last week signed an agreement to establish China’s first wholly foreign-owned hospital in the Shanghai pilot free trade zone.
The proposed hospital will include a medical imaging and diagnostics department along with training, research and development centers. It will offer medical services including treatment of muscle, bone, celiac and lung diseases.
The hospital is expected to open in about 18 months‚ according to Artemed Group’s founder Rainer Salfeld.
Under FTZ guidelines, a series of sectors, including health care, have been opened to foreign investors.
