BMW teams up with CapitalLand on more use of electric cars

GERMAN automobile and motorcycle manufacturer BMW Group and Singapore real estate company CapitaLand held a cooperation signing ceremony on electric-car charging (ChargeNow) in Shanghai yesterday.

According to the plan of the two sides, until the end of 2017, more than 100 electric charging pillars will be built in the properties of CapitaLand in 12 cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Chengdu.

At present, BMW Group has already built 1,500 electric-charging pillars in China. In 2017, BMW Group expects to expand its electric-car charging program to 15 cities.

Customers can now experience the electric-car charging service in Raffles City Shanghai which is owned by CapitaLand. From the mid of December, the two companies plan to launch a program to provide free trial on BMW electric car to customers and office workers in Raffles City.
