BEIJING, March 17 (Xinhuanet) -- The international police agency Interpol has called for all attention to remain focused on finding the missing Malaysia Airlines plane and the cause of its disappearance.

The organization on Sunday issued a statement, saying it does not want to be involved in any controversy that would divert attention from search efforts. The statement also said Interpol has worked continuously to provide assistance to investigators and law enforcement agents in Malaysia, and that it will continue to do so.

An earlier report alleged that Malaysia had turned down offers from Interpol to help find the plane. But Malaysia’s senior officials have denied that, saying the country has worked with all agencies, including Interpol.
