PR Newswire CEO addresses Amcham members

The development of new technologies has enabled companies to shift their communications models to stay closer with consumers and decision makers in the market, said PR Newswire Chief Executive Officer Ninan Chacko in Shanghai.

"Companies want to communicate in a way that combines public relations, marketing and advertising. Cutting-edge technologies have made that possible," Chacko said during a speech at the American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai during his visit to China.

PR Newswire, the world's largest corporate information distribution service provider, has launched new communication service based on online video, social network websites as well as live broadcasting to expand new channels for the distribution of the latest corporate events and news updates.

The importance of multimedia contents has been underlined by the social media as videos and photos are more appealing to consumers and are spreading at an explosive speed to every corner of the Internet and new media channels, Chacko said.

The Internet and social media have enabled brand owners to establish direct links with the media, consumers, investors as well as opinion leaders, he added.
