Park workers go on a joy ride in bumper cars
Four workers of a park went on a joy ride in bumper cars in Qingpu District, much to the amusement of the locals and passers-by.
The four men went on a ride on the electric-powered cars near Huaqing Road and Gongyuan Road on Tuesday.
Fortunately, they did not bump into anybody or other cars during their freak outing. Police are investigating the incident, but made it clear that bumper cars are not allowed on public roads.
Pictures of the four cars in bright colors — red, orange, blue and green — were posted online by netizens. One of the bloggers claimed that the four cars were driving in a line in the cycle lane. They crossed intersections like normal cars.
This is not the first such incident.
In April, a Formula One fan drove a karting car on Lupu Bridge ahead of the Formula One Shanghai Grand Prix. Another time, an electric-powered toy train, usually seen on pedestrian streets, was seen on a road with the driver insisting it made logistical sense.
