'Delighted' over Scots' option to remain in UK: British PM

BRITISH Prime Minister David Cameron Friday said he was "delighted" that Scots voted against independence in Thursday's referendum.

"The people of Scotland have spoken. It is a clear result. They have kept our country of four nations together. Like millions of other people, I am delighted," said Cameron in a statement released by the Downing Office.

"As I said during the campaign, it would have broken my heart to see our United Kingdom come to an end," he added.

He added that there was now a chance to change the Britain "for the better."
