It is an inspiring story but ended up with an unpleasant experience.

A warm-hearted taxi driver in Guangzhou risked himself to save a woman who jumped in a river. However, while he was saving a life, someone got away with all his personal belongings, New Express Daily reported.

The incident happened around 2:30am on May 25.

The driver Zhu Liang was waiting in his car near a bar when not far from him, he saw a young couple arguing near the river bank.

Suddenly, the young woman in her 20s climbed over the fence and disappeared.

Zhu ran over quickly to the river to help.

Zhu shouted for help, but nobody dared jumping into the dark river to save the woman.

As the situation became urgent, Zhu took off his pants and shoes and dived into the water.

With the help of passers-by and water police, the jumper was saved. The suicidal woman smelled of alcohol.

However, when Zhu climbed ashore, he couldn't find his pants and shoes where he had left.

He found them in a corner nearly 50 meters away from the fence but without his belongings which included a mobile phone, a wallet with 200 yuan in it,  bank cards, his ID card and driver's license .

Zhu informed the police, though it is unlikely he will recover his belongings.

Without the ID card and driver license, Zhu will have to suspend driving before he could get new ones.

He, nonetheless, didn't regret  doing what he did.

Zhu told the media he would still come out and save lives if he met such a situation again.
