Panda Feeders Come Into Spotlight Online
Zhang Yue, a feeder at the Giant Panda Breeding Research Base in Chengdu, capital of southwest China’s Sichuan Province, nurses more than 10 panda cubs. Although the babies look adorable, he has to repeat his job every day.
Every morning at 8am, Zhang starts routine checkup and outdoor cleanup. Every day he carries on average 50 kilograms of bamboo and cleans 20 kilograms of excrement.
He tests the temperature of milk for pandas by putting the bottle on his forehead. He carefully observes pandas every day to find out their differences -- whiter or fatter than previous day -- as a way to combat the monotony of the repetitive work.
