Woman Paints Man's Portrait on Cliff to Express Love
A woman from Jiaojiang District in Taizhou City has painted a huge portrait of a man on a cliff in Zhejiang Province to show her affection for him, Qianjiang Evening News reported.
The painting, measuring 6 to 7 meters high, was discovered by climbers on Fanzheng Cliff in Shenxianju scenic area, Xianju county, also in Taizhou. The cliff is 218 meters high, with a diameter of 60 meters.
A staff member of the scenic area said they didn't spot the painting until photos of it went viral online. "It's in a special location that is only visible to rock climbers,” the staff explained.
After an investigation, the staff members found that the person who drew the painting was a 37-year-old female climber, identified only as Lingling. The portrait is of a 40-year-old man, identified as Chen Kang, a member of her climbing group. Both of them are single.
"Lingling went to the scenic area at the weekends, spent several hours climbing up the cliff and painting. She often stayed overnight on the cliff to save time. It took her around ten days to finish the portrait over a period of two months," said a member of the climbing group surnamed Wang.
"The portrait was drawn using mineral pigments which can last a long time," Wang added.
Lingling has promised to remove her painting.
