Lijiang Holds Bug Eating Challenge

A resident of Chongqing revealed how he got the bug at an eating competition on June 26.
Mr Peng scooped first prize at a bug eating challenge in Lijiang when he scoffed 1.23 kilograms of fried worms and grasshoppers in only five minutes to win a 24k gold bar. The bugs were all dead prior to consumption.
The winner was one of several competitors from across the country, who all wore traditional national costumes at the event.
Most participants admitted that eating bugs was “scary but worth trying.”
