Killing Two Birds With One Stone: Students Rewarded For Losing Weight
In a world where every next person wants to have a slim and trim looks, to get materially rewarded to have a well-proportioned figure is simply too good to go for it.
However, Chongqing University's sports society launched a campaign on May 12, promising to reward those who lost weight.
Over 200 students and teachers signed up for trying to reduce weight. Of them 40 percent were men. The campaign ended recently with a rather satisfying outcome.
The campaign kicked off with weight of each measured and recorded. A month later, they were weighed again and ranked according to the amount of weight they lost.
Those who ranked in the first 50 were rewarded. A loss of 0.5 kilogram of weight could gain 30 yuan.
The top 3 were to get an additional bonus, ranging from 500 yuan to 2,000 yuan.
Guo Fei, 20, sophomore in department of IT, prevailed over in the campaign with a weight slump from 130 to 117. He got the 2,000 yuan reward!
Guo led a self-restrained life in this month. He resisted his addiction for hotpot. He also cut-down on breakfast and lunch and took just a little fruit for dinner.
Apart from diet, he mapped out a training course, including running in the morning or at night. He strived to walk instead of taking buses as well.
Yu Jianming in the department of civil engineering, 21, ranked 5th among all with 20kg to lose. He was not a rookie.
Earlier he had achieved a great leap losing 30kg. However, he reached a deadlock due to poor training course.
So he switched to a more refined one considering his BMI. “Better not skip dinner or eat a hasty one. And don't eat rice.”
Due to his efforts, now he was qualified even for part-time modelling jobs.
Xiao Qi, 20, from the law department, achieved a 22kg weight loss, the most among all female students.
Scorns of her ex-boyfriend on her figure drove her to losing weight. Her way to skinny figure was not paved with gold, for she had to conquer her lust for delicacies. To cope with, she made a list and reminded herself of them. And she made it.
