Hangzhou Residents Head to Ikea to Beat Heat

As temperatures soar outside, many in Hangzhou have made themselves right at home in a rather unlikely place: Ikea.

Photos of people lounging in the Qiaosi branch of Ikea are now making the rounds on social media.

The snoozers include men

Women

And parents with children

Many come for the free air-conditioning and a bit of shut-eye on the company’s beds

Sofas

And even on the chairs

Online, some voiced disapproval of such behavior and criticized the sleepers from abusing the hospitality of the Swedish furniture brand.

Some also took chided the dozers for the inelegance of their sleeping postures.

Others, however, said the photos were a good advertisement for Ikea and a testament to the comfort of its furniture.
