NBA Player Bobby Brown Apologized for Carving Letters on Great Wall
American basketballer Bobby Brown, who’s playing for Houston Rockets, apologized on his Weibo account on Tuesday morning for having carved letters on Great Wall when he and other Houston Rockets and New Orleans Pelicans players paid a visit there during their stay in Beijing for NBA China Games.
Brown’s post read, "I'm so sorry for this!! I apologize I didn't mean any harm by this, I respect the Chinese culture I made a honest mistake... hope you forgive me."
A day earlier, he posted on his Weibo, “Had a blast at the Great Wall of China today,” with a photo featuring a Great Wall brick with his name and squad number on it, which soon triggered fury among netizens. A lot of web users criticized him for having destroyed the historic relics.
However, Brown later deleted both the carving picture and his apology post.
