Man Spends 3 Days Making Lego Statue, Boy Destroys It In Secs
In less than an hour of him putting the product of his tireless efforts - a giant LEGO sculpture - for exhibition, Zhao's sculpture fell victim to a little boy's game.
Zhao had meticulously spent three long days and nights without falling asleep while putting together a 1.8-meter Nick Wilde from Zootopia.
The sculpture consisting more than 10,000 LEGO bricks is valued at 100,000 yuan.
The incident happened in Ningbo when the exhibition was unveiled in a shopping mall, National Business Daily reported.
The artwork was separated from visitors by security ropes and a 'Don't touch' sign was placed nearby.
But kids were allowed to take pictures with it one by one. It was this how a boy aged four to five camp close and accidentally pushed the fox statue. It was destroyed within seconds.
Photos of Nick smashed into pieces were widely shared on social media where netizens commented they felt heart broken.
Zhao also posted on his Weibo a series of pictures of the LEGO sculpture on May 29, saying he felt deeply frustrated.
The images show how Zhao painstakingly built the statue of this famous Disney character.
Zhao said he glued the LEGO bricks together loosely as the deadline for the exhibition of the sculpture. It was almost hollow inside so it was not strong enough to endure any pushes.
The father of the child reportedly apologized to Zhao.
Zhao declined financial compensation because, he told the media, the child didn't do it on purpose.
What a tolerant and kind man!
The incident sparked an outcry online. Someone said, "Shitty parents, spoiling their kids." A netizen even commented, "Children: the weapon of mass destruction."
