Man Takes Photos Smiling With 3,000 Strangers To Build Courage
A young man from Chongqing became a hit after he posted photos of him smiling with more than 3,000 strangers in nine months to improve his courage and spread positive energy.
Mei Xiao, 23, went to Hengdian, Zhejiang Province, a place well known for its film studio, last June, to pursue his dream of being an actor.
However, he couldn’t even land a minor role at the Hengdian World Studios in one week.
To draw attention and challenge his psychological endurance, Mei began to jog while wearing bizarre outfits. Several days later, a more audacious idea came to his mind — taking photos with strangers with a smile.
He told the strangers his dream and thought of spreading positive energy. Sometimes his warm invitation met with ridicule or some people rejected him outright. But most of the strangers gave him support and encouragement. More than 3,000 people so far have agreed to pose with him.
Now he is still continuing this mission during his spare time and aims to make the number bigger to apply for a Guinness World Record.
