A young man from Guilin in south China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region has become an Internet sensation after his pictures of cycling round the world with his dog went viral.

Xiao Yu has traveled to 23 countries in a year with his pet Harry, Guilin Daily reported.

Xiao Yu started on his journey in 2014 to promote the idea of protection for stray animals.

During his 70,000-km long journey, he visited more than 100 animal rescue centers in Asia, Europe and North America.

Xiao adopted the stray dog in 2010. In 2012, he went on a ride with Harry on the Sichuan-Tibet highway.

Last month, Xiao Yu published a book to share his adventures and raise money for organizations that take care of stray dogs.
