Plum blossoms add color to the city
Meichuan Park
It emphasizes the harmony between man and nature. More than 50 species of plants can be seen although the highlight at this time of year is the plum tree garden. Famous calligraphers are invited to write Spring Festival couplets on site for free. Visitors can also enjoy folk arts such as paper-cutting and candy painting during the park’s plum blossom festival.

Xinzhuang Park
Originally called Xinzhuang Plum Park, it was once the private garden of a local dignitary surnamed Yang, who completed the landscaping in 1920. Plum trees are the major attraction and the park is widely considered to be the best place to admire the plum blossoms in Shanghai. There are nearly 40 varieties of plum blossoms among the more than 1,000 trees.

Century Park
It boasts more than 3,000 plum trees of diverse species imported from all around the country. Red, pink and white blossoms can be seen. Some of the trees were given to the park by Sichuan Province residents. One tree is around 70 years old.

Haiwan National Forest Park
With thousands of trees, it is a popular destination to appreciate plum blossoms. The annual plum blossom exhibition runs until later this month. The scenic site will be decorated with different styles of landscape architectures according to various ancient dynasties. Paths have been created through the plum trees so visitors can get a closer look.
