Making history with your romantic celebration

AS Shanghai evolves like a whirlwind around us, the Fairmont Peace Hotel provides a respite of classic repose. True love is synonymous with the glamorous hallways of the Bund icon, which since the 1980s has been a most sought-after location for wedding dinners and romantic celebrations.

The legendary hotel is steeped in modern Chinese history, serving as the backdrop for some of the most important events in Shanghai’s past.

And it’s the perfect setting for your big day.

A team of special events and catering professionals are at the ready, dedicated to creating the most memorable celebration for you and your friends and loved ones. Florists, event and entertainment managers, function stylists and our team of catering professionals will ensure that your reception reflects your very own personal style.

The fabulous Peace Hall is the Fairmont Peace Hotel’s largest banquet hall. Located on the auspicious eighth floor of this landmark building, it is one of Shanghai’s most famous ballrooms. Over the decades it has witnessed some of the city’s most lavish receptions and parties.

Also known as the “Golden Hall,” it is designed in British palace style, and sits beneath a majestic vaulted ceiling over 6 meters high, with striking moon windows on either side. Six crystal chandeliers illuminate this beautiful space, and the sprung dance floor is still the original white maple, now perfectly restored and given a new lease of life.

Our stunning rooftop events space is one of the largest, highest and most historic roof terraces on the Bund. The rooftop is the ideal place for an exclusive wedding ceremony. Following the Fairmont Peace Hotel’s distinctive A-shape design, the 11th-floor space has a total area of more than 1,000 square metres, making it comfortable for up to 800 guests.

The view is one of the finest in Shanghai, as well, looking out on the Huangpu River and the spectacular Pudong skyline. The space can be catered with a full buffet or a cocktail bar. It can also accommodate up to 20 round tables, making it ideal for an awe-inspiring wedding.

The terrace also features two of the most exclusive private dining rooms in the city, the 25-square-meter Scotland Room and the 35-square-meter England Room. Both were designed for private dining when the Peace Hotel was founded by Sir Victor Sassoon. These rooms boast high ceilings and the decor of a traditional British gentleman’s club. Entirely secluded under the Peace Hotel’s signature copper, these are the most unique private dining rooms available in Shanghai.

Furthermore, guests booking their wedding at Fairmont Peace Hotel, will also get an exclusive photo opportunity in the historical art deco hotel or on the rooftop with the backdrop of Pudong and the Bund.
