Fresh wedding looks from a makeup legend

EVERY girl wants to be at her best on her wedding day, so perfect bridal makeup is absolutely essential.

Makeup artist Bobbi Brown, who took part in the recent Bridal Fashion Week in New York, throws light on some of the latest in bridal beauty from and her and her team.

It doesn’t matter what kind of wedding is being planned — every girl is sure to find inspiration from these new looks.

Carolina Herrera

This gorgeous look is inspired by the Carolina Herrera Spring 2017 collection, which is a mixture of traditional and fashion-forward pieces and is marked by embroidered floral lace, floral motif appliques, mermaid silhouettes balanced with oversized bows, plunging backs and long, sheer veils.

Brown tried to complement the elegant collection and create a look that is clean, fresh and natural-looking.

The highlights of this look are just-pinched, pink cheeks and supple beige pink lip, with a hint of shine. The rest of the look includes softly feathered brows framing neutral, delicately lined eyes. You don’t need to wear a Carolina Herrera wedding dress for this look. A natural, romantic bridal makeup look always works well with any classic gown.

Marchesa Bridal

Marchesa’s wedding dresses always make a statement. And the 2017 collection is all about flourishing rosebuds and blossoming flowers that conjure an angelic beauty that is graceful and ethereal. To create a total look for the angelic beauty of this collection, the makeup designed by Brown was kept natural and minimal as well, inspired by an early morning journey through an enchanted garden.

This subtle look glows with pink swept cheeks and richly stained red lips. Around the eyes, a shadow in a warm cream shade is applied to give a sheer, bright look. The sweep of white shadow creates a pretty, pale nude effect that is very fresh.

Jenny Packham

Jenny Packham’s Spring 2017 bridal collection is inspired by the afterglow of a wild Midwestern night. The pieces are glamorous and contemporary, yet with a bohemian touch. The collection also features a whimsical palette of hazy soft petal pink and spring-time celadon green.

These pieces are completed by an edgy yet equally elegant beauty look. Again, Brown chose the glowing pink-swept look for the cheeks, with her signature nude lip. The eye makeup for this look is prominent with an undone, brown smokiness for a playful and romantic feel.

Wedding day look preparation tips

The wedding day makeup requires planning, and to achieve a flawless skin condition, a month’s preparation is essential.

Skin tightening

The Venus Legacy skin tightening machine is recommended for less than two months for great results. The technology makes it possible to travel deeper into the skin, resulting in increased blood circulation, skin tightening and glowing skin. The Venus Legacy treatments are painless and need only 25 minutes for each session. A minimum of six treatments before the wedding day is recommended.

Skin hydration

Exfoliate once or twice a week up to the week leading to the wedding and moisturize religiously to ensure skin is supple. This will help the makeup stay longer on the wedding day. Chinese skincare brand Chando offers a range of great moisturizing products. Moisture masks can be used every day and night.

Skin base and foundation

Use a heavier foundation than usual because the camera flash can make the foundation appear lighter. Bobbi Brown recommends the Skin Foundation Stick that can be used all over the face or just for touchups. Plus, it’s a yellow-based foundation that is ideal for pictures.
