Award-winning Russian pianist Andrey Pisarev stages solo recital

ANDREY Pisarev will perform a solo piano recital at the Shanghai Oriental Art Center.

In 1991, a young Russian pianist won Grand Prize in the International Mozart Competition in Salzburg, which was the first time since 1956 the Grand Prize had been awarded in this competition. It was Andrey Pisarev.

Born in 1962, this Russian pianist combines an international concert career with teaching at the Moscow Conservatory, where he graduated and now serves as a professor. Pisarev has a wide repertoire and feels equally at home when he performs Bach, Mozart, Liszt, Chopin, Rachmaninov and Shostakovich. His playing features a sense of transparency and is “distinguished for virtuosity.”

Having cooperated with prestigious artists and symphony orchestras such as the RAI Orchestra Milan, the Cape Town Symphony Orchestra and the Russian National Orchestra, Pisarev is viewed as a “world pianist” whose performance is “uniquely impressive” and “unforgettable.” Having held solo recital and concerts with orchestras all over the world, Pisarev will present Chopin’s classic works in Shanghai.
