Viatri strikes late as Shenhua sees off 10-man Liaoning
A BRACE from new Argentina striker Lucas Viatri helped Shanghai Greenland Shenhua beat 10-man Liaoning Whowin 3-2 in the Chinese Super League at Hongkou Football Stadium last night.
Cao Yunding and Viatri scored in the 7th and 46th minutes to give the hosts a 2-0 lead. Liaoning then fell one man short after Jin Taiyan received a straight red for pulling down Shenhua’s Brazil striker Paulo Henrique in the box 4 minutes after the break. However, Liaoning equalized in 20 minutes. James Chamanga scored with a header on a freekick. The Zambia forward then provided the assist for Yang Chaosheng’s equalizer. An unmarked Viatri volleyed the decider in the 82nd on a back pass from Cao. In other matches, Shanghai Shenxin lost 1-2 to Dalian Aerbin. Guangzhou Evergrande and Shandong Luneng played goalless. Evergrande leads the 16-team standing on 36 points. Shenhua is 10th.
