Lazio held at Verona

LAZIO saw its four-match winning streak broken with a 1-1 draw at Hellas Verona in Italian Serie A on Thursday.

Bosnia midfielder Senad Lulic put Lazio ahead in the 43rd minute at Verona’s Bentegodi stadium, redirecting a cross from Antonio Candreva. Verona equalized with a penalty from Luca Toni in the 69th after Luis Cavanda fouled Juanito Gomez inside the area, drawing his second yellow card and leaving Lazio with 10 men. Verona, however, failed to capitalize on its man advantage.

Lazio, with its first draw of the season, moved level on points with AC Milan, Sampdoria and Udinese in third place, six points behind leaders Juventus and AS Roma. Verona, which was coming off two losses, remained mid-table, 10 points behind the leaders.
