Wales loses Davies for RWC
WALES center Jonathan Davies is expected to miss the Rugby World Cup because of a right knee injury sustained in a French Top 14 match last weekend.
The Welsh Rugby Union yesterday said that 27-year-old Davies, who has played 48 tests, will undergo surgery and is likely to be out for up to seven months. He ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament playing for Clermont Auvergne against Montpellier and went off just after halftime last Saturday. Wales coach Warren Gatland is expected to announce his World Cup training squad on June 8. Wales will play in the same pool as two-time champion Australia, host England, Fiji and Uruguay.
