Marquez extends deal
MOTOGP defending champion Marc Marquez has signed a two-year contract extension that will keep him with Honda until the end of the 2016 season.
“I am very happy to announce my renewal with HRC (Honda Racing Corp),” the 21-year-old Spaniard said in a statement. Marquez became the youngest world champion in MotoGP last year when he won the title in his rookie season at the age of 20.
Marquez has started this season by sweeping the first four races after starting from pole position. He has a 28-point lead in the championship ahead of this weekend’s French Grand Prix at Le Mans.
