Schumacher Jr claims maiden victory in F4
MICK Schumacher enhanced the famous name yesterday by claiming victory in only his third Formula Four race on his debut weekend in the sport. The 16-year-old son of seven-time Formula One world champion Michael Schumacher was the fastest over the 18 laps at the Oschersleben track, between Hanover and Berlin. Having started second on the grid, Schumacher Jr led from the front. His place on the podium caps a successful weekend for the German, who won the best rookie title on his debut behind the Formula Four wheel when he finished ninth on Saturday despite starting 19th on the grid. Schumacher Jr, racing for the Dutch Van Amersfoort Racing team, then finished 12th yesterday morning before winning the afternoon’s race.
