Rucinsky hangs up skates

Czech forward Martin Rucinsky yesterday ended his career which included almost a thousand games in 16 seasons in the National Hockey League.

The 44-year-old wing announced he was quitting on the website of the Czech top league team Verva Litvinov, which he led to its first title ever in the 2014/2015 season. Rucinsky scored 250 goals and had 376 assists in 998 NHL games for Edmonton, Quebec, Colorado, Montreal, Dallas, New York Rangers, Vancouver and St Louis in 1991-2008. He won world championship titles in 1999, 2001 and 2005.
