Fan dies at Braves stadium
A MAN died on Saturday after falling from an upper deck at the Atlanta Braves’ ballpark, the Major League Baseball team said. The fall occurred in the top of the seventh inning of the New York Yankees’ 3-1 win over the Braves — as Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez was walking to home plate to bat amid boos. Fans seated in the lower section behind home plate where the man fell scattered and paramedics raced to treat him. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution newspaper said the man had fallen at least 12 meters. In 2013, Braves fan Ronald Lee Homer Jr died after climbing over a railing at Turner Field and leaping to his death in a parking lot in a death ruled a suicide. A 25-year-old man fell four levels to his death at the ballpark in 2008.
