Shanghai stays on course with 2nd win in CAFL

SHANGHAI Skywalker clinched their second China American Football League victory by beating Shenzhen Naja 61-48 in the league’s third stop in Qingdao over the weekend. The victory kept Shanghai’s hope of advancing to the tournament’s final next month.

The final will be held in Shanghai.

Over 1,000 fans showed up at Qingdao Guoxin Gymnasium for the two-day event. In the other two matches, Guangzhou Power whipped Dalian Dragon Kings 40-7, while hosts Qingdao Clippers lost to Beijing Lions 33-47. It was Qingdao’s first loss while Beijing remains the only undefeated side in the league.

Six teams are competing in CAFL’s debut season in China. They are coached by American professionals. Each team consists of 22 Chinese and foreign players.

The best two teams will meet for a “China Bowl” clash at Shanghai Oriental Sports Center on November 6
