Bolt, 49ers fire coaches
SAN Diego’s Mike McCoy and San Francisco’s Chip Kelly were fired on Sunday as coaches of their respective National Football League teams only hours after defeats that concluded miserable losing campaigns.
In four seasons, McCoy had a 28-38 overall record with the Chargers, his farewell bow a 27-37 home loss to the Kansas City Chiefs that left the Chargers a 5-11 record this season. Kelly, who was joined in being fired by 49ers general manager Trent Baalke, saw a woeful 2-14 season finish with a 23-25 loss to the Seattle Seahawks.
