Auzzie Outdoors to open first offline outlet store

“INSPIRING you to live your passion.” This is the vision Auzzie Outdoors holds for its Chinese customers.

The specialist Australian retailer for outdoor, sports and fitness, is set to open its first offline outlet store in Shanghai, a big move in its approach to the new market after one year of online retailing experience in the country.

Owned by SRG Trading (Shanghai) Ltd, Auzzie Outdoors introduces its Chinese customers to Australian brands such as Outdoor Expedition, Asana and Arctics Star, as well as some private and exclusive labels. It offers a full range of products covering travel, running, aquatics, camping, hiking, yoga, racket sports, skiing and others.

The products can be purchased atwww.auzzieoutdoors.cn and on some other online shopping platforms like tmall.com and jd.com. The launch of the offline store aims at providing customers with an interactive experience apart from online purchases.

In future, we can expect more offline purchases and interactive engagement experiences from Auzzie Outdoors on the Chinese mainland.

Like its parent group — the Australia-based Super Retail Group (SRG), Auzzie Outdoors aims to provide solutions and engaging experiences that help customers make the most of their leisure time.

“More Chinese people are realizing the importance of taking up sports and building a healthy lifestyle,” said Wu Donghua, general manager of SRG Trading (Shanghai) Ltd China E-Commerce. AuzzieOutdoors hopes to spread the leisure living lifestyle to its Chinese customers, Wu added.

Sales records at the company’s website show that more Chinese people are taking up running, camping, mountain climbing and other outdoor sports. Traditional ball games like basketball, table tennis and badminton still have a huge following, and the company sells those kinds of products, as well. Other outdoor activities such as fishing and cycling also are in expansion mode among Auzzie Outdoors’ customers in China, the firm says.

Among visitors to the website most appeared to be customers from the big cities of Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou and Shenzhen.

With rich experience in e-commerce, Wu thinks Auzzie Outdoors can provide a wide choice to its customers. The parent group has more than 600 retail outlets in Australia and New Zealand.
