GOODBABY Group, the world's leading stroller maker, yesterday said it will set up a research center in Hong Kong focusing on innovation as it seeks to expand its portfolio.

This is the company's fifth research facility globally along with the ones in Boston, Tokyo, Netherlands' Utrecht and Kunshan in Jiangsu Province, said President Song Zhenhuan at the CBME, Asia's largest exhibition of products for children, babies and parents.

Infant and child products providers are stepping up investments as the output value of China's infant and kid market reached 900 billion yuan (US$132.7 billion) in 2009 and is expected to exceed 1 trillion yuan this year.
