AN 11-month-old boy kidnapped by motorcyclists outside his home has been reunited with his parents after being discovered alone in a nearby city in south China.
The baby, Mi Fan, was discovered crying alone on Monday, four days after he had been abducted, at a river dam in Conghua area of Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong Province.
Police sent him back to his home in the province's Foshan City early Wednesday morning, Information Times reported yesterday.
The kidnappers are still at large.
The boy's father Mi Qingyou told the newspaper that Mi Fan was a bit thinner, but otherwise healthy after the ordeal.
Mi Fan didn't react when he was returned to his family.
The baby was snatched by two motorcyclists when playing outside his home on November 27 with his five-year-old brother. Their mother was inside at the time having a bath. She reportedly rushed outside naked in an attempt to save the boy but failed.
The family posted thousands of fliers around the city as they searched for Mi Fan.
Foshan police offered a reward of 50,000 yuan (US$7,324) for tips leading to the discovery of the baby, setting up 12 checkpoints across the area. They put more than 200 officers on the case, according to the report.
