MORE than 40 public bus routes will be shortened or detour on Sunday for an international marathon in Shanghai, today's Shanghai Morning Post reported.
The Toray Cup Shanghai International Marathon 2009 will be held from 7:30am to 1pm.
Runners will compete in one of three events: marathon (42.19km), half marathon (21.0975 km) and a fun run.
All three routes start from Century Plaza in downtown Nanjing Road E. The fun run ends at Jing'an Park while both the full course and the half marathon end at Minhang Stadium in southwest Shanghai's Minhang District.
A temporary bus service will run from 9:30am to 2:50pm to transport runners from the terminus at Minhang Stadium to Xinzhuang Station on Metro Line 1.
