Worker killed by excavator

A WORKER was killed yesterday after being knocked down by an excavator at a construction site in Shanghai's northeast Yangpu District.

The unnamed worker, 52, from Sichuan Province, died after being sent to nearby Changhai Hospital, today's Oriental Morning Post reported.


He was standing close to the excavator while the machine was turning around, and the operator failed to notice him under the vehicle, a site manager told the newspaper.
