EDOARDO Mortara followed in the footsteps of motor racing greats Michael Schumacher and Ayrton Senna by winning the Macau Formula Three Grand Prix yesterday.
The 22-year-old Italian, who finished second from pole last year, moved up from third on the grid to win the 56th version of the race ahead of fellow Signature driver Jean-Karl Vernay of France. Mortara's compatriot Gabriele Tarquini earlier won the world touring car championship by finishing fifth in the final race of the season in the Chinese enclave.
