CHINA'S Ministry of Health is preparing for the launch of a web spokesman to better inform the public, explain policies and respond timely to questions, according to a ministry official.
Deng Haihua, spokesman and deputy director of the general office of the ministry, made the remarks when attending a conference on health information communication held from yesterday to today.
The web spokesman will be a major part of the spokesman system, and it has been launched as a pilot program in the provinces of Yunnan, Guangdong and Guizhou, Deng said.
The ministry will set up a special platform for the web spokesman on its official website, according to Deng.
"It will serve as an online information releasing platform. More importantly, it will become a major channel for the ministry to give feedbacks to questions that the public are concerned," Deng said.
The ministry has already started to build the channel and will put it into use as soon as possible, he said.
