A LIST naming 106 convicted drunk drivers will be made public today by traffic police in Nanjing, capital of neighboring Jiangsu Province, as a warning to all drivers.

Traffic police said they will publish the names of those caught drunk driving from time to time, Yangtze Evening News reported today.

The 106 drivers named on the list were all caught in July, and have been fined or detained for 15 days, the report said.

But one offender named on the list said it was a shock. "I've paid for driving drunk and won't do it again, said the driver surnamed Zhang. "I didn't tell anyone about it and can't imagine what it will be like if my friends and colleagues find out."

Nanjing is not the first city to expose drunk drivers. Traffic police in Fuzhou in Fujian Province and Wuxi in Jiangsu Province have all taken the same measures.
